Pakistani achieves remarkable business success in Texas

Special SAT Report

AUSTIN,Texas: A new Pakistani immigrant entrepreneur has become the fastest growing businessman in the Information Technology sector in Austin, Texas, having launched the largest technical training center in the city.

In just three years after he came to the US from Karachi, Pakistan, Iqbal Sheikh, who started the Cyber Tex Group, now has four corporate companies and the Mayor of Austin, Gus Garcia, last week inaugurated his latest Computer Training Center, now the largest in the City.

Speaking on the occasion, Garcia observed that the CyberTex offered great new possibilities to the people to get ready for the impending economic recovery. He said that the "downturn" in the economy is in fact a boon for the training center like CyberTex, which prepares the workforce for new challenges ahead.

"Despite the dramatic downturn in Austin's high-tech industry, CyberTex has experienced an almost 300% growth, resulting in the need for a larger facility to handle the demand for classes," said Iqbal Sheikh, CEO and President.

Sheikh was an executive of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry before he migrated to the US and decided to settle in Austin, Texas. He has four children, all well qualified, who run his business ventures with his daughter Sofia having the distinction of being the youngest MSCS Certified Professional with a 100 per cent Grade at the age of 15.

Garcia commended Sheikh for making positive contribution to Austin's economy and noted that "Sheikh's American dream had come true."

Sheikh responded: "Whatever I have accomplished in the short span of three years could not have been possible without the continued help and support from the Austin's community leaders."

CyberTex is Austin's largest high-tech training and certification center, offering complete computer hardware and networking training. It is the area's only center that provides full certification after completion of course studies in A+, Network+, MCSA, CCNA and more.

These certifications are prerequisites for most employment in the high-tech sector. In addition, CyberTex offers job placement, grants and financial aid, including Sallie Mae Student Loan Funding.

A large number of students, corporate and community leaders attended the inauguration ceremony.
